Food Near Las Vegas Winter Concerts and Events 2026-2027

December in Las Vegas is the busiest stretch of the entertainment calendar. The National Finals Rodeo runs ten days at Thomas and Mack Center, Olivia Rodrigo plays back-to-back nights at T-Mobile Arena, Bruno Mars closes out the year at Dolby Live on New Year's Eve, and Post Malone does the same at BleauLive at Fontainebleau. Allegiant Stadium hosts two Raiders games and the Las Vegas Bowl. Red Clay Strays, Matt Rife, Bailey Zimmerman, Jeff Dunham, Riley Green, and Luke Bryan with Jason Aldean all have shows in the same month. January 2027 opens with CES at the Las Vegas Convention Center and closes with the CFP National Championship at Allegiant Stadium.

What that calendar creates, if you have not planned around it, is a dining problem. December and early January are peak weeks for restaurant demand on the Strip and near every major venue. Table-service restaurants in proximity to arenas fill their reservation windows weeks out. On show nights, the walk-in wait at anything sit-down near T-Mobile Arena, MGM Grand Garden Arena, or the Dolby Live corridor runs long from 6pm onward. New Year's Eve is a category of its own: surge pricing is standard, and the restaurants that do not require reservations still run lines that double or triple on a normal Friday.

This guide covers the major Las Vegas concerts and events from late November through January 2027, organized by venue, with logistics notes and links to dedicated food guides for each show. If you are looking for the fall 2026 calendar covering September through November, that guide is separate. For the Christmas period specifically, see the Christmas food guide for the Las Vegas Strip.

National Finals Rodeo at Thomas and Mack Center: December 3-12

The National Finals Rodeo runs ten nights and brings one of the largest annual event crowds to Las Vegas. Thomas and Mack Center sits on the UNLV campus, east of the Strip off Tropicana Avenue. There is no practical walking route from Strip hotels, and the rideshare demand around the UNLV campus on NFR nights is high. The restaurants immediately around the campus are limited in number and capacity relative to the crowd.

The straightforward approach for any of the ten NFR nights is to eat on the Strip before taking a rideshare to the campus. Rock N' Potato at Showcase Mall is open every night of the NFR run, Monday through Thursday until 11:30pm and Friday through Sunday until 1am. December 3 is a Wednesday, December 12 is a Friday. See the dedicated NFR food guide for full logistics by night of the run.

Thanksgiving Weekend and Early December Shows

Postmodern Jukebox plays Encore Theater at Wynn on November 27, the Friday after Thanksgiving. Black Friday weekend in Las Vegas is among the highest-occupancy periods of the year. Encore Theater is at the Wynn, on the north end of the central Strip corridor, roughly a 10-minute rideshare from Showcase Mall. Eat at Rock N' Potato before heading north, and you arrive at the Wynn without competing for a table in a resort complex already running at holiday capacity.

Early December brings shows across multiple venues in quick succession. Matt Rife plays Dolby Live on December 4. Red Clay Strays play MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 5, a Friday night show at a venue that is 0.1 miles from Rock N' Potato. On the same night, Jeff Dunham plays PH Live at Planet Hollywood and Bailey Zimmerman also plays PH Live. Planet Hollywood is in the same Paris-Bally's corridor, roughly a 5-8 minute rideshare from Showcase Mall. Riley Green plays Resorts World Theatre on December 6, a Saturday, at a venue about 10 minutes by rideshare from the central Strip.

For MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 5, the pre-show logistics are as simple as any show on the calendar: walk out of Showcase Mall, cross the block, and you are at the venue. For Dolby Live, PH Live, and Resorts World, eat first on the Strip, then rideshare.

Allegiant Stadium in December: Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean, Raiders Games

Allegiant Stadium is off Russell Road, south of the central Strip. A rideshare is the only practical option from most Strip hotels. The same logic applies here that applies for every Allegiant show: eat on the Strip before you leave. The food options in the immediate stadium corridor are limited before you get inside, and inside stadium pricing is what it is. Eating at Showcase Mall before the rideshare puts you ahead of the crowd still trying to figure out dinner near the venue at show time.

Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean play Allegiant Stadium on December 11, a Friday night. It is a large-capacity show that will drive significant pre-show foot traffic both at the stadium and on the Strip. Plan dinner at Rock N' Potato by 6pm, then rideshare to Allegiant.

The Raiders home schedule continues in December with two games. Raiders vs. Chargers on December 13 is a Saturday. Raiders vs. Broncos on December 20 is a Sunday, the same night Olivia Rodrigo is at T-Mobile Arena. Both games follow the same pre-game meal logic: eat on the Strip, rideshare to the stadium.

Olivia Rodrigo at T-Mobile Arena: December 19 and 20

T-Mobile Arena connects to Showcase Mall via The Park, a covered walkway between New York-New York and Park MGM. Rock N' Potato is in Showcase Mall at Suite 207, 0.4 miles from the arena doors. On foot, that is roughly 10 minutes. Olivia Rodrigo plays T-Mobile Arena on December 19 (Friday) and December 20 (Saturday). Both nights are weekend shows with 1am closing hours at Rock N' Potato. The December 20 show lands on the same night as Raiders vs. Broncos at Allegiant Stadium, which means rideshare availability near the Strip will be compressed from multiple demand sources. If you are going to the Rodrigo show, walk to T-Mobile Arena from Showcase Mall rather than adding to the rideshare queue.

New Year's Eve 2026: Bruno Mars, Post Malone, and the Las Vegas Bowl

New Year's Eve on the Las Vegas Strip is the single most compressed dining night of the year. Reservation-required restaurants at resorts along the Boulevard fill weeks out. Counter service does not have that problem. Rock N' Potato is open until 1am on December 31, which is a Thursday (covered by the 1am Friday-Sunday window; note that December 31, 2026 falls on a Thursday, so hours follow the Mon-Thu 11:30pm schedule -- confirm current hours at the location page before your visit).

For the full New Year's Eve dining picture, see the NYE food guide for the Las Vegas Strip. Three major events land on December 30 and 31. Bruno Mars plays Dolby Live on December 30 and 31. Dolby Live is in the Paris-Bally's complex, roughly a 5-8 minute rideshare from Showcase Mall. Post Malone plays BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau on December 30 and 31. Fontainebleau is at the far north end of Las Vegas Boulevard, about 10-15 minutes by rideshare. The Las Vegas Bowl takes place at Allegiant Stadium on New Year's Eve, December 31. For all three of these events, the eat-first-then-rideshare plan at Showcase Mall is the most reliable way to handle dinner on a night when every alternative requires either a reservation or waiting in a line that will not move quickly.

CES 2027 at the Las Vegas Convention Center: January 6-9

CES 2027 runs January 6-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The LVCC sits on Paradise Road north of the central Strip, roughly a 10-15 minute rideshare from Showcase Mall. During CES, every restaurant near the convention center runs at capacity throughout the day and into the evening, and the Venetian and Palazzo dining options in the same corridor fill up quickly after sessions end.

Rock N' Potato is open Sunday through Thursday until 11:30pm, which covers every evening of the CES main run. The show floor closes each day and attendees disperse across the Strip. Eating at Showcase Mall during or after the evening wind-down is a straightforward option: counter service, no reservation, no wait for a table in the way that a sit-down restaurant near the LVCC will have on a CES weeknight. The menu starts at $10.95 for a fully loaded baked potato, which fits well against the elevated pricing that clusters around the convention center during the show.

CFP National Championship at Allegiant Stadium: January 25, 2027

The College Football Playoff National Championship comes to Allegiant Stadium on January 25, 2027, a Monday. It is the biggest single-game college football event of the season, and it will bring a full stadium and a pre-game crowd that starts building hours before kickoff. The Allegiant Stadium logistics are the same as any other show there: rideshare is the only practical route from the Strip, and eating on the Strip before you leave is the most reliable approach. Plan dinner at Rock N' Potato before heading to the stadium, and you arrive ready rather than looking for food options in a corridor that is already at capacity by the time the game matters.

Rock N' Potato: Open Late, No Reservation, on the Strip

Rock N' Potato at Showcase Mall

Suite 207, 3785 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109

Mon to Thu: 8:00am to 11:30pm

Fri to Sun: 8:00am to 1:00am

Counter service. No reservation needed.

Phone: (725) 205-3293

Rock N' Potato is counter service. You walk up, you order, the food comes out fresh. There is no reservation system, no prix-fixe minimum, and no table wait. On a December concert night, when every sit-down restaurant within a quarter mile of T-Mobile Arena or MGM Grand Garden Arena is running a wait list, that is worth more than it sounds on a normal Tuesday. The hours cover every show in this guide. Friday through Sunday the kitchen is open until 1am, which means Rock N' Potato works as a post-show stop when the setlist runs long, not just a pre-show meal.

The ratings reflect what the kitchen produces. 4.8 on Google, 4.9 on TripAdvisor, and Yelp Top 100 nationally (number 23 in 2026). The menu earns those numbers. The Original Groupie is a fully loaded baked potato at $10.95, a complete meal at a price that makes sense on a night when everything on the Strip is running at holiday pricing. The Fleetwood MacDaddy at $35.95 is the signature build, a loaded baked potato that holds up to that price point. The Dirty Motley at $15.95 and the Chuck Berry Fried Chicken at $15.95 are the two most-ordered savory builds. The Birria King at $16.95 is a different flavor profile entirely. The Lobster Roll at $16.95 covers the seafood end of the menu. For groups who want something to share first, the Birria Fries at $14.95, Cheese Fries at $8.95, and Wings at $10.95 are the right call before the main.

The Rule for Food Before Any December Las Vegas Concert

The pattern is the same across every show in this guide. Eat before you think you need to. December compresses more events into fewer weeks than any other month on the Las Vegas calendar, and every one of those nights puts the same demand on the same restaurants at the same time. The 6pm rush near T-Mobile Arena or MGM Grand Garden Arena on a December Friday is not something you navigate around once you are already in it.

Rock N' Potato handles the pre-show meal for MGM Grand Garden Arena with almost no logistics (0.1 miles, walk out the door and cross the block). For T-Mobile Arena it is a 10-minute walk through The Park. For everything else on this calendar, Allegiant Stadium, Thomas and Mack, Dolby Live, Fontainebleau, Resorts World, and the LVCC, the plan is the same: eat at Showcase Mall, then rideshare. You arrive fed, on time, and without having spent the first half of the evening standing in a line that was not going to move fast enough anyway.
